Intro to Chomp Chomp's Best EATS

Chomp Chomp Food Centre, once known as Serangoon Garden Food Centre, is a landmark in Serangoon Gardens estate because of the good food offered here.

History Back in 1960s, the stalls at Chomp Chomp were located opposite the present hawker centre where the bus stop and carpark are now situated.The stalls were relocated to a new hawker centre and named “Chomp Chomp”. For the younger crowd 80's & 90's kids, the name aptly represented the sound of happy consumers, chomping away at the food choices here.

In April 1998, a roof was built for the food centre with the aim of improving hawkers’ businesses and customers’ comfort, sheltering most of the hawkers from rain and unpredictable weather. The food centre underwent a major renovation as part of the National Environment Agency’s (NEA) Hawker’s Centre Upgrading Programme in September 2003 and reopened on 2004 after seven months of renovation. The new Chomp Chomp had a new roof designed to provide more shelter for dining areas with outdoor seats on a raised timber platform. Handicapped-friendly features were also included and its seating capacity was increased twofold to 394. To date, Chomp Chomp remains a key landmark in Serangoon Gardens because of its al fresco dinning style, wallet friendly food choices & delicious food.

Food Choices

There are so many stalls here, ranging from satay to hokkien mee, BBQ Stingray & thirst quenching sugar cane. Well loved hawker stalls have all INVISIBLE Queues which get worse between 6pm -8pm.

Waiting time : 30mins - 1hour ( varies from stall to stall )

Table: get to this place before 6pm to catch seats, it gets overly crowded from 6.30pm onwards!
