Lawa Bintang - Nasi Lemak with a twist

This tiny hawker stall serves up big portions of food, with a twist on our favourite Nasi lemak.

For the days you want to add something interesting, try this! Lawa Bintang's Lobster Nasi Lemak!

" Our Lobsters must buy fresh daily, I don't buy extra and keep in freezer and cook tomorrow, cannot la, not nice." Sare exclaims.

So when the daily orders of lobsters get sold out by 11.30am, that's because of the limited quantity as Sare also checks for lobster's weight and freshness as well as the long preparation times!

Sare adds, "Lobster take time to clean and prepare, so we cannot prepare and serve that many a day. Must maintain the quality la."

Besides the many news articles and blogs talking about this stall, many people don't venture here as the location is not easily accessible by public transport. For people who would like to drive, please note Lobsters are often sold out by lunch, and Lawa Bintang is open till 2pm or when all ingredients are sold out!

There are many varieties to choose from including the popular items such as;

Notable points

1. Fresh Lobster, (we estimate around 250g/300g?)

2. Good Sides, peanuts are crunchy, ikan bilis and sambal is good, not too strong.

3. Rice is basmati rice, grains are cooked evenly.

4. Smoked Duck is also nice, taste is rich but not overwhelming, a bit on the saltier side, but good texture.

5. Grilled prawns are big and juicy and fresh. One of our favourites!
