Pin Xiang Chicken Rice

Bedok Interchange Hawker Centre is big, lots of good quality hawker food here, with queues forming during lunch and dinner.

Pin Xiang Chicken Rice is located quite deep in, but you won't miss it because there's usually a long line of customers. They serve both roasted and white steamed chicken and also small dishes such as lemon chicken & fried tofu.

The chicken meat is juicy & tender, while the sauce is flavourful and chilli is spicy, all requirements met. Their chicken is served with a little bit of preserved vegetables on the side; it's salty sweet type with slight crunch. While it's not common to see that, we tried some in between mouthfuls of chicken. It goes really well with the chicken, kind of like a palate cleanser, which helps to break the sauce down, not so jelat, and very appetising.

It's very common to hear customers ordering half a chicken or whole chicken here, and that makes the queue wait rather long, up to 40 mins to queue during dinner times!

Notable points

1. Roasted & White steamed are both good, depends on personal preference.

2. White steamed chicken is juicier, lighter in flavour, great with chilli sauce and ginger.

3. Roasted chicken is more flavourful and more popular here.
