Fang Yuan Satay

As a kid, whenever we get to Chomp Chomp for food, or any hawker centre, the one stall my mum has to look for, is satay. I loved satay, it's a great side dish for family sharing and often, it's also sweet and tender.

Aunty Jenny rides a mini e-scooter and you can spot her arriving around 4.30pm on most days. She takes about 1 hour to set up her stall and she bbq the satay upon order.

"No la, I don't half cook the satay la, it's not nice when customer order then cook again. Taste won't be the same" says Aunty Jenny.

On weekends, it's a common sight to see Aunty Jenny preparing 50 sticks of satay or more, for orders that were ordered in advance.

"Ah, this one is for Birthday party la. Very fast, I'll do your order also, very fast, very fast done." She comments.

Notable points

1. Marinate is good, more to the strong marination type

2. Peanut Sauce with a little pineapple sauce in it, smooth, not too chunky type.

3. Meat has a bit of chao da parts on the outside, slightly charred and we love it.

4. Meat chunky, but this does vary a bit from day to day
