Satay bee hoon is a dish invented by the Teochew people who immigrated to Singapore. That peanut sauce that we dip our satay in? Pour it over Bee Hoon, cockles, Kang Kong, Cuttlefish & a great dish is formed!

While we have many people who love satay bee hoon, not many hawker centres have a queue for satay bee hoon. Check out this satay bee hoon from Bedok 85, with queues as long as 40 mins, you'll see many customers playing games on phones, checking what uncle is doing and quietly complaining why some people can order so much.

Photo of this dish just doesn't do it any justice. The sauce is thick and fabulous, mildly sweet and aromatic with grated peanuts and spicier than the usual peanut sauce I am used to.

The ingredients are fresh, crunchy beansprouts, juicy cockles & taupok which soaked up all the gravy, and of course the bee hoon!

Portions here are generous, but you'll hear many customers ask for the bigger packet, which is clearly the favoured size.

The queue for this stall has been described as long, insane and like a snail, or snail also faster. Unfortunately, it's all true, it takes 30 mins on average and 40mins during dinner time ( 6pm -8pm ). Uncle has no assistant, no one to help take orders and so all customers have to guai guai order and wait.
